ACCIDENT – Tod Point, Warrenby (branch line to breakwater)

ACCIDENT AT TOD POINT, WARRENBY

            A young man, belonging Redcar named William Robson, employed on the Tees Conservancy work at Tod Point, met with an accident of a serious danger on Tuesday morning (05/03). He was riding on a slag bogie attached to an engine on the branch line, leading to the breakwater, when from some cause or other, the bogey on which he was riding ran off the rails. Robson at once jumped off, but failed to clear the bogie, and was caught and dragged several yards; the bogie subsequently falling onto him. On being extricated, he was conveyed to his home at Redcar, where she was attended by Dr. Walker. He was found to be shockingly cut and bruised about the left leg and thigh, and on the lower part of his body, but he is now progressing favourably (unreadable) recover.
