REDCAR AUTUMN RACE MEETING

The first autumn race meeting at Redcar was held on Saturday last (06/10), and was very successful. The fixture had been got up at very short notice, it only being decided to have an altering meeting here on the last race day at Doncaster, a fortnight previous, and it is mainly owing to the energy displayed by Mr. Dawson, the indefatigable clerk of the course, and that there was such a numerous entry, and that so much success attended the gathering. The weather was delightfully fine, and there was a good attendance from the neighbouring seaside towns; the president of the sporting fraternity was, however, only limited, the meeting following so closely on Edinburgh, and one or two south country fixtures.
