QUARTERLY PRACTICE OF THE “BURTON-ON-TRENT” LIFEBOAT AT REDCAR.
The National Institution’s lifeboats, “Burton-on-Trent” was taken out for this on Tuesday last (19/03). Captain Sergeant, R.N., assistant inspector, was present. A capital launch was made, under the direction of Josef Burnicle, coxswain, and the boat proceeded to see under sail for a distance of nearly two miles. The capabilities of the “Burton-on-Trent” both as regards sailing and rowing were thoroughly tested, and gave the greatest satisfaction to the inspector.
