 REDCAR LOCAL BOARD OF HEALTH

At the monthly meeting of the board, on Monday last (06/02), there were present Messrs Lennard (Chairman), Mallaby, Cowl, Webster Harrison Fairbridge and Watson; J. G. Thompson (Clerk), and M. Crabtree (surveyor).

The minutes of the last monthly meeting were raped and confirmed, with the exception of the one relating to the numbering of the streets; and it was resolved that the streets be numbered alternately, instead of consecutively, as decided upon at the last meeting. The committee of the whole Board was appointed to carry out the resolution.

Resolved that a public meeting of the inhabitants be called to consider the question of the proposed cemetery, as soon as the necessary estimates could be prepared; and the Surveyor was requested to get the estimates drawn up.

The Clerk was instructed to write to the Earl of Zetland, asking his Lordship’s consent to the proposed extension of the district.

It was ordered that the flagging be laid in front of the Board Room.

The Surveyor reported that he had examined the churchyard drains, and he believed new drains would have to be cut before the ground could be properly drained.

A plan of two cottages to be built in the Back Lane by Mr Thomas Potts was passed.
