STEALING POULTRY AT REDCAR
At the Guisborough Please Called, on Tuesday (20/10), two youths, named William Dobson and James Boddy, the former son of a fisherman, and the latter a son of a labourer, were charged with stealing poultry from the farm of George Wren, Redcar on the 19th inst. Several cocks and hens being missed information was given to the police, and a few days afterwards it was found that five cocks and hens had been sold by the prisoners to a game dealer named Parsons. On being taken into custody, Dobson admitted that he had stolen a cock and the other a hen, but he afterwards stated that he took to at first, then one, and on Monday night week, another cock and hen. The prisoner, who pleaded guilty to the charge, was committed to Northallerton Gaol for one month with hard labour.
