THE FREE GARDENER LIFEBOAT AT REDCAR
The carriage of this boat arrived on Monday afternoon (15/10), and after the boat had been hoisted thereon, it was placed in the boat house. It will no doubt be remembered that on the occasion of the launch of the boat, the carriage broke down in the High Street, owing to it not been constructed of sufficient strength. It has since been in the hands of a Middlesbrough firm, by whom it has been almost entirely re–constructed, the wheels being now of much smaller dimensional is than they were at first. The boat has lain in the boat-house without a carriage. Since the launch on 30th July, and it is now stated that it will be thoroughly tested in the first heavy sea.
