PEOPLE – PICKNETT, Thomas Hood, Fisherman

LAST LINK WITH THE “ZETLAND”

   06/04/1935. It was reported that he last link with the “Zetland” lifeboat was broken when Mr. Thomas Hood Picknett was united in death with his two sons, and brothers (whom he lost over 30 years ago) in a wreck which he survived.

   After his service, he was buried in the family grave at Redcar Cemetery, beside his wife who died a short time previous.

   Mr. T. H. Picknett died 2 months short of his 89th birthday.

   The funeral was attended by many family mourners, and fellow friends and fishermen. It was also attended by the R.N.L.I crew, Coastguards, and other organisations.
