FORMATION OF REDCAR FIRE BRIGADE
The Clerk read to the board the minute relating to the formation of a Fire Brigade, and also informed them that he had had a conversation with Mr. Whitwell, the captain of the Stockton Fire Brigade, and that gentleman had suggested to him (the Clerk) a scheme for the formation of a brigade; and therefore he thought it desirable that the Board should form a committee to correspond with Mr. Whitwell on the subject
A committee was formed in accordance with the Clerk’s suggestion consisting of the following members:- Messrs. Johnston, Abbey, and Watson.
