CONVEYANCE OF LAND – MEDICAL OFFICER – SURVEYOR POLICE STATION
WATER PIPES – COMPLAINT – LETTER
The monthly meeting of the Redcar Local Board was held on Monday Afternoon (04/10)
The Clerk as instructed perused the deeds in preparation for the conveyance for the purchase of land known as Garth Close, Redcar, for the sum of £150. everything in order council seal attached to conveyance.
MEDICAL OFFICER
The Medical Officer reported a death rate of 29.40 per 1,000. This high rate was attributed to unavoidable causes and premature births.
POLICE OFFICE FOOTPATH
The Surveyor reported that the foot-way outside the Police Station had not been carried out in accordance to the notice given to the police authorities. It was decided to approach Mr Stead to the matter, pointing out the divergence.
WATER PIPES
A tender was accepted from Messrs Cochrane, Grove, & Co for the supply of 250 tons of 7 in, iron socket pipes, 9ft long, required to convey water from the reservoir, at £3-10shilling-0d per ton delivered.
COMPLAINT – LETTER
A letter from Mr. Douglas Charlton. of Scarborough was written to the Chairman complaining of the almost nude condition of bathers at Redcar, and that the Board should introduce a bye-law compelling bathing machine keepers to provide a regulation costume for bathers.
