THE SEASON AT REDCAR

The season at Redcar is now fairly at its height. The town during former seasons may have had in it larger numbers of visitors than it has at the present time; the attendance, never less, may be considered an average one. Hotels and lodging-houses are far more numerous than they were two or three years ago, and afford accommodation for an increased number of visitors. Mr Groening’s celebrated military band performs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, on Redcar Pier, and receives a large share of patronage. A skating rink is also open daily (Sundays excepted) at the Central Hall, where, in addition to forming a fashionable promenade when the weather is unfavourable for outdoor parade, really and enjoyable amusement is provided. Redcar races are next fixed to take place on 10th and 11th of next month, and will doubtless attract a large influx of visitors and pleasure seekers.
