Boundary Fence
Such was the rivalry in the past (1800’s) between Coatham and Redcar, they put up a wooden boundary fence between their two communities to make quite clear which area you were in. The boundary fence started in West terrace, and travelled southerly in a straight line between West Dyke ditch to Kirkleatham.
