DEATH – LAYCOCK James 42yrs Lackenby Iron Works

INQUEST AT LOW LACKENBY

            An inquest was held in the school-room at Low Lackenby, on Monday (22/01), before Mr. W. Robinson, deputy-coroner, touching the death of James Laycock, 42 years of age. Deceased was employed at the Lackenby Iron Works, and on the 8th inst., While engaged in cleaning a blast engine, he fell from a gantry a distance of 14 1 /2 feet, sustaining injuries to the back of his head from which she died on Saturday last. Verdict “Accidental death.”
