CONCERT – CENTRAL HALL, REDCAR.
A concert was given in the Central Hall, on Wednesday evening (27/07), by Mr. N. Johnson, who was assisted by Miss Amy Empsall and Mr. R. Fraser. Miss Empsall was encored in”The Banks of Ellen Water,” and “Home, sweet home;” and Mr. Fraser received the same compliment for nearly all his comic songs. Mr. Johnson”s composition, “The Cleveland Mazurks,” played by himself, was much admired. His execution of Schulhoff’s brilliant but “tricky” arrangement of the “Carnival de Venice the” was highly applauded.
