 MEETING OF CLEVELAND IRONMASTERS

             A most important meeting of ironmasters was held at Middlesbrough all, on Wednesday afternoon (27/02), to further consider the question of blowing out furnaces. It was anticipated prior to the meeting, that a resolution would be come to reduce the number of furnaces on Cleveland. Iron to the extent of ten. The result of the meeting, however, was to add to furnaces to that number, making twelve in all. Messrs. T. Vaughan, and Co., blew out three furnaces, Messrs. Gilkes, and Co., Pease, and Co., one; Messrs Hopkins, Gilkes, and Co., two; Messrs. Lloyd and Co., one; Messrs. B. Samuelson and Co., one; Messrs. Bell Brothers, two; Rosedale and Ferryhill Co. change one from Cleveland to other iron, and Messrs. Lloyd and Co. also change one.
