LIFEBOAT – “Man the lifeboat.”

“MAN THE LIFEBOAT.”

The family of a gentleman of Bradford, who visited the life-boat during a short stay at Redcar, on returning held a child’s Bazaar, and transmitted the proceeds to Mr. J. Burning, coxswain of the life-boat, for the benefit of the Institution, those aiding with their little hands and heads to “man the life-boat.” And when the howling storm whistles at their chamber window, there will have the comfort to know that in addition to their evening prayer that God would protect “all at sea,” they have lent their endeavour to lessen its dangers by supporting one of the most noble of our Christian institutions. As the little donors are perfect strangers to the coxswain of the boat, to whom the money was sent, they must please accept this as an knowledge won’t and thanks for their labour of love.
