REDCAR BURIAL BOARD
PLANTING OF TREES

On Monday’s meeting (01/12) of the Burial Board held in the Board Office, Mr. Watson was presiding. The usual monthly accounts were passed and ordered to be paid.

Mr. W. A. Picknett reported that 80 trees had been planted from Lord Street to the Cemetery there being 8 left, in consequence of Mr. George Hearse not granting leave to allow trees to be planted in the fields recently bought by him. Mr. Picknett asked if the Board would have these in the Cemetery or would they plant them round the Churchyard. The Rev. J. Groves moved that 60 trees be purchased for the cemetery which was agreed to and a Council committee of the whole Board was appointed to decide where they were to be planted.
