SALE OF COAL AT REDCAR

The people of Redcar, visitors to that watering place and others whose convenience it may suit to purchase at times small quantities of coals, will be glad to hear that the practice of selling the worst description of coals in small quantities, at the price of the very best, having being brought to the knowledge of Mr Smith, mineral manager of the Darlington Section, that gentleman – with good principle which ever animates him when abuses are disclosed in his department – suppressed the imposition, and gave orders that in future nothing but the best  coals shall be sold in 1 cwt. Bags, and those at the fair market prices. (Northern Echo)
