REDCAR AND COATHAM VOLUNTEER LIFE BRIGADE
Captain Cecil F. Johnson, R.N., assistant Coast Guard Inspector, made his quarterly inspection of this Brigade on Tuesday last (16/05), when the usual practice took place with the rocket apparatus. At the clause captain Johnson pointed out one or two defects and afterwards congratulated the members of the Brigade on the improvements made since the last inspection, the time occupied in getting the line fixed and in working order being 14 minutes, as against eighteen and a half minutes on the occasion referred to. The prize for “throwing the lead” was one for the fifth time in succession by Charles Whitaker.
