WEATHER – Resumption of Storm Signals

RESUMPTION OF STORM SIGNALS. 

                The meeting was held on Monday last (08/06 those who for this object, the Rev. W. Milburne in the chair. The Earl of Zetland had written to the chairman to recommend the resumption of the signals, and advising that an application being made to the Board of Trade. Mr Allan proposed, and Mr W. Dobson seconded, that an application being made to the Board from the pilots, coastguards, fishermen, and the inhabitants of the players in accordance with the conditions of circular No. 278; also that the Earl of Zetland be asked to waive the application before the secretary of the Meteorological Committee. Mr Webster proposed, and Mr Kirby seconded, that the management of telegrams the under the inspection of the chief officer of the coastguard.
