FIRE AT THE CROWN AND ANCHOR HOTEL.

On Monday morning (31/08), about seven o’clock, the occupants of the Crown and Anchor Hotel were somewhat alarmed by the breaking out of a fire in a cellar underneath the kitchen. It appears that a new kitchen range had been recently fixed, and the in consequence of it being fixed to a low, the heat had communicated with the beams of the seller and set them on fire. Fortunately assistance was at once procured, by means of throwing water on it, it was at once extinguished. The injury don’t was very slight.
