CALENDAR FOR YORK ASSIZES
The calendar for the York Assizes, which opened at York on the (20/03), will be heavy as to the number of cases and the seriousness of their character. There is one case of wilful murder, five persons charged with manslaughter, four cases of arson, three of perjury, four persons accused of rape, one of forgery, two females charged with concealment of birth, two charges of burglary, one of liable, two of wounding, four persons accused of assault and robbery, and eight distinct charges of post-office robberies and forgeries.
