OPENING OF A NEW ORGAN IN THE
CONVALESCENT HOME CHAPEL, COATHAM.

The new organ in this place of worship, built by Mr Gildersleeve, of London, was formally opened on Easter Sunday, when Mr Blackbee, organist of St. Chads’, Hackney Road, London, presided at the instrument both morning and evening, and in the afternoon gave an organ recital. The Rev. J. Postlethwaite, director of the situation, preached at the morning and evening services. The design of the organ and oak case is by R. Norman Shaw. Esq., A. R. A. The cost of the instrument £150 has been defrayed by subscription from the congregation worshipping at the Home Chapel, assisted by a few friends. The organ is rich in tone, and, for its size, is said to be unequalled in the district.
