BAZAAR AT REDCAR

A bazaar was held in the Central Hall, Redcar, on Tuesday and Wednesday (31/07& 01/08), to raise funds to pay off the remaining debt on the organ in Coatham Church. This organ was erected about two years ago, at the cost of £520, and of this sum, about £118 remained still due. Many ladies, both members of the congregation, and from a distance, kindly sent an ample supply of work, and the following ladies presided at the stalls:- Mrs. Towne, Mrs. Macdonald, Mrs. Owen, Thos. Jones, Miss Lees, Miss. Bottomley, Miss. Armstrong, and the Misses Davison. The result of the two days’ sales amounted to about £80. Several friends have kindly promised to contribute towards the balance of the debt, which is to be hoped, will now soon be paid off.
