A LOCAL GOVERNMENT FOR COATHAM
Several of the principal inhabitants at Coatham are agitating for an improvement on the present form of governing that place. A Sanitary Committee, under the Guisboro’ Rural Sanitary Authority, is in existence, but it has no power to levy a rate, and this has been found, in several instances where local improvement is necessary, to be exceedingly inconvenient, especially when the majority of the ratepayers are willing to pay it.
