IN MEMORIAM

In memoriam. –  With feelings of deep regret we record the decease of Sister Mary, for many years the devoted and indefatigable Sister-in-Charge of the Cottage Hospital, North Ormesby. This lady, who was known by all residents of the district as Miss Jaques, of Kirkleatham, after many years’ devoted labours for the sick and suffering at North Ormesby, retired from the work, and established a Home for Incurables at Stoke Newington, London. Sister Mary was recently at Coatham on a visit, and her end has apparently been somewhat sudden, in the midst of the suffering people whose incurable maladies, she strove to alleviate by her kind and thoughtful care. It is a matter of thankfulness that this busy active worker has entered into rest without long, tedious illness – indeed, it is singularly happy to pass from active devoted labours to the rest that remaineth for the people of God.
