MARRIAGE FESTIVITIES.

On Tuesday (17/04) the marriage of the Rev. A. E. Clementi-Smith, Vicar of Christ Church, Coatham, to Miss Eveleen Newcomen took place at the parish church, Whitwell, Isle of Wight. During the day there was a display of bunting at the coastguard station, at the school room, and on several dwelling houses in Coatham; and guns were fired by the coastguard in honour of the event. The scholars at the Grammar School and the National School had holiday, and the hall of the children belonging to the latter school, together with the Sunday scholars, numbering over 200, were regaled with tea in the school room. In the evening, a substantial supper was provided for the choristers. The health of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by the Rev. C. E. Bowden, and was drunk with the customary honours. We understand that the happy pair will spend the honeymoon on the continent.
