(KIRKLEATHAM) MEETING

            Judge, Mr. James Hedley; slipper, Tom Boottiman; Stewards: Messrs. Thos. Howe, Wm. Atkinson, S. Morton, J. Simpson, W. Cowing, W. Tinkler, R. Anderson, and William Blakey. Field stewards: Messrs. Jno Proud, J. Bulmer, Peter Wallis, John Harrison, Thos Hick, John Bennison, Ralph Woodwark, and William Wallis.

The third meeting this season of the North of England, Coursing Club will be held over the Kirkleatham estate today (Friday, 02/11), and tomorrow (Saturday 03/11), by kind permission of A. H. T. Newcomen, Esq. The programme will be made up of 32 dog stakes, one of which will be for puppies – the first competition of the kind the committee have attempted this season. Mr. Thos Snowdon, the secretary, and Mr. Jacob Anderson, the treasurer, met at five o’clock on Wednesday (31/10), at the clubroom, Mr. Wm. Blakey’s the Adelaide Hotel, Newgate Street, Newcastle, to take the entries, and the lists were so quickly filled that all was in readiness for the drawl at 11 o’clock, which was speedily got through.
