THE YORKSHIRE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY

            An influential meeting was held at the Red Lion Hotel, Redcar, on Monday (20/07), the Earl of Zetland, presiding, to consider the desirability of inviting the Council of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society to hold the annual sure of 1878 Redcar. The ground proposed to be used is at the racecourse. A considerable sum towards the guarantee fund was subscribed in the room, and a deputation was appointed to meet the Council at York, on the 31st inst.

THE YORKSHIRE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY

            A meeting of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society Council was held at York, on Tuesday (31/07), during the afternoon. With the Earl of Zetland, presiding, it was decided to hold the show next year, at Northallerton. Redcar, Middlesbrough, and Scarborough had all so invited the Council to hold the shore at those places next year. On being put to the vote, Northallerton received 22 votes, Scarborough 6 votes, Redcar, 4 votes, and Middlesbrough 2 votes.
