OPEN FISHING BOATS’ LIGHTS

Up to August, 1881, all open fishing boats, when under way at night, were not compelled to display side light, but on the approach of other vessels were to show the red light and green lights with slides.
By order of the Council of 1884 open boats not exceeding 20 tons are to have fixed side lights. Quarter or half decked are open boats. Open fish boats less than 20 tons are excused from exhibiting side light, but not exempted from the regulation with respect to anchor lights.
