LAW & ORDER – Damage at the Red Lion Hotel, Redcar

Accreditation The Redcar and Saltburn-by-the-Sea Gazette 08/11/1890.

RED LION HOTEL, REDCAR.

On Wednesday evening (05/11), whilst a numerous company were playing pool in the Read Lying Hotel Billiard Room, some foolish person unknown to the company opened the door and threw some fireworks on the table, which had just been done up at great expense, causing considerable damage to the cloth. Mr. Clay, the Proprietor, has offered a reward of two pounds to any person who will give information as may lead to the discovery of the offender. It is a great pity that the town is afflicted with such foolish jokers, and we trust the culprit will receive the punishment he so richly deserves.
