MEETING – REDCAR BURIAL BOARD.

A vestry meeting was held in the Infant School Room, Redcar, last (Wednesday) evening (15/07), at which about 40 ratepayers were present. The meeting was convened for the purpose of filling the vacancy at the Burial Board caused by the death of Mr Robert Abbey, and Mr J. H. Webster proposed that Mr Joseph Mallaby be appointed, – Mr Cowl, seconded. Mr William Picknett nominated Mr Michael Crabtree, and Mr Burgess, seconded. On being put to the meeting, the show of hands was largely in favour of Mr Crabtree, only four being held up for Mr Mallaby. The friends of the latter, however demanded a poll, which will probably take place on Monday (27/07)
