PANKHURST Emily Miss Suffragette
Yes, they even came to Redcar (twice) with their messages Monday 28th June, 1909, and on Thursday 31st June 1909. Miss A Pankhurst was the main speaker at the meeting which took place on the beach, with Mrs Pankhurst herself speaking at a meeting which was held in the Central Hall, on the Thursday. The suffragettes were very well received by the people of Redcar.
