BUILDING SOCIETY AT REDCAR
An announcement was made of a new building Society at Redcar, the need of which has long been apparent. The new society is called “The Redcar and Coatham Provident Benefit Building Society,”
Shares were announced at £60, and the payment on each share 5s, monthly. The society is on the terminating principle, and the first meeting will be held in the Town Hall Monday next at 7 pm. That there is a large field here for the operation of this society is evident from the fact that large sums are sent monthly from Redcar to Middlesbrough to the Middlesbrough Society. No doubt persons will be found ready to take shares in a local society, worked by officers well known to them, and in the annual election of whom all the shareholders have an interest.
