SHIPWRECK – Vessel ‘Kelpie’ sunk Huntcliff Foot, Saltburn.

VESSEL ‘KELPIE’ SUNK NEAR SALTBURN.

            Intelligence, was brought to West Hartlepool on Wednesday (03/04), by the crew of the ill-fated vessel of the running down of the ‘Kelpie’, of London, of Huntcliff Foot, the same morning. The vessel with which she was brought into collision was the screw-steamer ’Osborne’, of Leith. The crew of the ‘Kelpie’ took to the board and landed by that means Hartlepool, minus all their clothing and other effects. Only one of them belong to the Shipwrecked Mariners’ Association. The ‘Kelpie’ was the property of Messrs. Chapman and Jordison, of London. The ’Osborne’, which proceeded on her voyage. Immediately after the collision, belongs to Messrs. Campbell and Gibson, of Leith
