RAILWAY – Train Service on the new Whitby Line

Accreditation the Redcar and Saltburn-by-the-Sea Gazette 15/12/1883

TRAIN SERVICE ON THE NEW
WHITBY LINE

A united meeting of representatives of the Redcar, Kirkleatham, and Redcar Local Boards has been held at the Redcar Board offices to consider what action could be taken with a view to secure the running of the direct service of trains from Middlesbrough to Whitby via Redcar and Saltburn. It was decided to point out to the North-Eastern Railway Company how detrimental to the interests of Redcar and Saltburn, as watering places, and how inconvenient to the travelling public, the present arrangement is, and to request the directors to receive a deputation on the subject from the three Local Boards.
