EVENT – Boat Race at Redcar

BOAT RACE AT REDCAR

            A board race will take place at Redcar on Saturday the 15th, 1877, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.

First Prize, A SIVER CUP, value £4
2nd Prize                                 30s
3rd Prize                                 10s.

All competitors must be Bona-fide Landsmen. The Race, which will start from and finish at the Redcar pier, will be rowed in Heats, in the two Pleasure Boats, which will be chosen from Redcar Beach, and provided for the purpose. Two men in each Board.

Entrance fee, five.   Distance 1 Mile.

Church and Referee 🙂 J. G. Thomson, Esq.

Entries will be received by Mr. Robt. Clark, at the Redcar Pier, up to six o’clock on Friday evening, September 14th. There must be six entries or there will be no Race.

N.B. the decision of the And judges and Referee as to the qualification of competitors, and on all matters in dispute, shall be final, and no appeal will be allowed.
