LAW & ORDER – Robbery from th person at Redcar

ROBBERY FROM THE PERSON AT REDCAR. 

            At the Guisborough police court, on Tuesday (23/06), Joseph Fleming, miner, and Joseph Taylor, bricklayer’s labourer, of Redcar were charged with having stolen £2 in money, from the person of George Gibson, waiter at the Queen Hotel, on Sunday last (21/06). It appeared that while was lying asleep in a field West Dyke, Fleming had fallen upon him and held him down, whilst Taylor took the money from his pocket. When arrested part of the money was found in their possession. They were both committed for trial at the Quarter Sessions at Northallerton.
