REDCAR LIFEBOAT PRACTICE

During the last few days the town had been several placards announcing that on Wednesday the (16/4), the National Lifeboat would be launched for practice. At 2 p.m. a large number of people assembled to witness the spectacle, and were amazed at the very clumsy fashion in which the work was done. The crew appeared to be without a captain, there was no unity of action consequently the launch occupied a very much longer time than it ought to have done which in the case of a wreck might prove of very serious consequences.
