MAJUBA HILL
Majuba Hill is situated on Cleveland Golf Course, and being used during the summer months as the first tee Box. The whole of Cleveland Golf Course and some of the surrounding coastline can easily by seen from the top of the Hill.
(Position yourself – Facing the sea with the Golf Club on your left and the large hill on the left, behind the fence is Majuba Hill)The name Majuba Hill came about many years ago when a track crossed over Majuba Hill. Naturally people using the track to get down to the sea were faced with the hazard of ‘golf balls’ flying through the air in their direction. The people involved in the Boer War likened this situation to that of being sniped at going over Majuba. Hence the name Majuba Hill, and of course Majuba Road,
