RAILWAY ACCIDENT AT REDCAR

            Yesterday Wednesday (24/10) morning, between ten and eleven o’clock, an accident happened on the Stockton and Darlington line. It appears that William Sanderson, fireman, of Middlesbrough, was in front of an engine of three mineral trains in connexion in order to pass the block, cleaning the lamps, when he accidentally fell off, the trains passing over him and was carried a considerable distance along the line, the engine driver missing him, stopped the train and returned, finding him lying in an unconscious state, having received several cuts and bruises. He was at once conveyed to the North Ormesby Hospital, where the injuries were found to be of no fatal character.
