WARRENBY – Town

Formerly a large area of street terrace housing to mostly accommodate the workers of the iron works, which became Dorman Long. Most of these houses have long gone and only slight remnants of the area remain to this day. Well known for its access by road (Tod Point road still in use) to the South Gare Breakwater, of the River Tees, and the Iron & Steel Works of the past. It was also along this road that you could find the Redcar – Middlesbrough Railway Line, with Tod Point Crossing Gates, and gate man. The old alignment of the original railway can still be seen.
